The article looks at the concept of metaphor and various view points about metaphor by linguists. The article also summarises the main approach to metaphor analysis in the 20th century. Then based on the conceptualist view of metaphor, especially that of Lakoff, the author investigate the use of metaphor in economics textbooks. Hopefully, the knowldge of metaphors in economics can help economics teachers to deal better with the economic terms and make their lesson more interesting.
