  • Dương Thị Trinh

Abstract

Translating vocabularies from a second language (L2) to mother language (L1) is one of the learning methods that most of people who begin learning a foreign language apply. Vietnamese who learn Chinese as the beginners also apply this method to approach the target language. However, when a beginner use this method to translate Chinese  in to Vietnamese, it leads to the problems of misunderstanding the vocabularies and i ncorrectly using them. This article bases on the ‘Contrastive Analysis’ ( Robert Lado, 1957 ) and the ‘Modelling learning difficulty’ ( Ellis, 1999 ),  examines the difficulties of Vietnamese  ho start learning ‘ 就’ and ‘ 才’ by translation methods.
