EMBODIMENT AND THE CONCEPTULIZATION OF EMOTIONAL CATEGORIES IN THE TALE OF KIEU

Abstract

Following  the  approach  of  cognitive  semantics  which  states  the  conceptual structure of emotion, in this paper I aim to analyse the basis of embodiment cognitive through conceptulizing  emotional  categories  in The  Tale  of  Kieu. The  cognitive  method  Nguyen  Du applied to analyze emotional categories meets the cognitive method of human. The author chose human beings and body parts as reference center for emotion. Ho ever, Nguyen Du’s method still show unique characteristics through using a rich and evocative vocabulary.
