TEACHING CONTEXTUALIZED SOUNDS OF CONNECTED SPEECH OF ENGLISH FOR ÊĐÊ LEARNERS

Abstract
This article gives an overview of teaching contextualized sounds in connected speech of English for Êđê learners. The article mainly refers to segmentals rather than suprasegmentals, and it also contrasts English aspects of connected speech with those of Êđê. Based on the teaching material of English on English pronunciation with a recorded disc of native speakers provided by Mortimer (1985), the study recommends some techniques for Êđê learners to surpas the thresolds in Engilsh pronunciation for communication purposes.
