A REVIEW OF LANGUAGE POLICY OF THE PARTY AND THE STATE ON ETHNIC MINORITY LANGUAGES AND THEIR CURRENT ISSUES ARISING

Abstract

This paper is going to elaborate on two main points: (1) to examine the
Vietnamese Party and State‟s policy on ethnic minority languages, including the
government‟s direction, plan and implementation; (2) to raise some issues which may serve as the scientific foundation to formulate the Vietnamese State and Party‟s policy on ethnic minority languages in the future, during the era of industrialization, modernization and global integration. The purpose of examining the State and Party‟s policy on ethnic minority languages is to raise some issues regarding ethnic minority language in Vietnam currently to contribute to the formulation of language policy in particular and ethnic policy in general to sustainably develop ethnic minority region.
