The feature meaning is the universal property of adjectives. This is distinctive feature of adjectives in comparison with other word classes. The functioning of adjectives is complex and diversifying in languages, even in one language. It causes contradictions in identifying correctly the nature of this word class. The feature meaning of adjectives has been discussed much until now but it hasn’t been explained outrightly as distinct from other word classes. For this reason, this article focused on analyzing the feature meaning of adjectives, comparing Vietnamese adjectives with English adjectives in terms of the feature meaning to identify correctly the nature of adjectives in general and Vietnamese adjectives in particular.
