Abstract

Upon surveying real linguistic data of wedding ceremonies in Southern area, we found out some types of congratulatory remarks with meaningful contents that participants of wedding ceremony usually talk to bride and bridegroom and their families at this important event, such as: Congratulate bride and bridegroom a hundred years of happiness, getting children soon, lead a wealthy and noble life; Congratulate your family on getting a virtuous daughter-in-law, a devoted son-in-law; Wish an enduring relation by marriage etc. These types of congratulatory remarks in wedding ceremony of Southern people show the cultural beauty of the nation through nuptials that has distinctive features in comparison with other ceremonies of life circle rite
