HOMONYM TERMINOLOGY UNDER DIFFERENT SCIENTIFIC SECTORS IN VIETNAMESE

Abstract

After the August Revolution in 1945, when Vietnamese was used as the national language and taught in all levels, including higher education, the urgent demand was to quickly establish a system of scientific terminology. There are many ways to establish the system of terminology from many different sectors; as a result, there are many homonym terms. We should gradually handle with such situation; for example, regulations on new  standard pronunciation and spelling in Vietnamese to write accurate terms. It is required to distinguish the multi-sector homonyms of terminology and phonetic transcription, toward the establishment of dictionary which explains and distinguished the term homonym. Is it true that the national arbitration to solve this issue?
