Abstract

    Hyperbole is toe use of exaggeration as a rhetorical device or figure of speech. It is used to create emphasis on a situation. It may be used to evoke stoong feeltogs or to create a strong impression, but is not meant to be taken literally. Hyperbole is classified as figurative language, which is toe use of words m an unusual or imaginaflve manner, to his works. Mo Yan very much likes hyperbole. Accardmg to the meanmg, toere are: exaggeration and minification. Accordmg to toe forms, toere are diiective and mdirective hyperboles.
