Expression of "trước/sau” in Vietnamese temporal cognition

Abstract

    Time in Vietnamese is often conceived as an entity that is expressed through the use of the word " trước ", "sau". Through the metaphorical models, this article analyzes the cognitive characteristics of " trước", "sau" in determining the timing of Vietnamese, there by making certain suggestion in the study of psychology, national culture that behind the language.
