Some suggestions on the advertising language on Vietnam television

Abstract

    Advertisement on television has become an indispensable activity of life. Advertisement has contributed to changing the face of mass media and is an effective tool for altering customers* attitude as well as motivating tiie production of consuming goods. Language helps to associate products with sales, services and social activities; therefore; if advertisement wishes to win tiie advantages, more investinent should be poured in tiie language of advertisement Pun is a stylistic device adopted in tiie language of advertisement on Vietnam national television (VTV) with the aim of enhancing its expressiveness and especially drawing the viewers' attrition. Based on tiie findings of the research Pun - A stylistic device in the advertisement language on VTVl and VTV3, the article makes some suggestions on orioiting the development of tiie advetisement language on television in Viet Namu
