Translation and validation of "beliefs about language learning inventory" among Vietnameses learning French
Abstract
The research auns to translate (from English to Vietnamese) and to validate the Beliefs About Language Learning Inventory (Horwitz, 1988) among Vietnameses learning French as a foreign language. After being translated and modified in a language more appropriate to Viemamese context accordhig to method proposed by Vallerand (1989), the scale was used to conduct a survey of 344 students in Buôn Mê Thuật and Đà Lạt. The results show that model with 12 variables grouped in 5 factors fit to data collected. In addition, the research also made a number of recommendations related to translating and testing scale.
