A study on loss and gain in meaning in the english translations of expressing the notion 'self' in Trinh Cong Son's songs of cognitive metaphors

Abstract

   This study fiicuses on cognitive metaphors denoting the concept of "Self in Trinh Cong Son's songs in their English translations. Having applied many research methods, the authors analyzed cognitive metaphors of 'Self in TCS' songs, and found the Loss and Gain in meaning during the translation process. Findings of the study can be of meaningfiil benefits for those who work in areas such as English language teaching and leanung. Translation studies, and Cross-cultural communication.
