Using games in vocabulary lessons to foster students' motivation and ability to retain words
Abstract
It is geneaally accepted that Vietnamese students are in Ihe habit of leaming English new vocabulaiy passively by waiting for teachers' explanations and then memoizing a long wordlist without putting it into pactical contexts, with results in the fact that memorizing a long motivation in the classroom is measured as low. To tadde the puzzte, games have been specifically applied in Phu Lam primairy school, aiming at revealing their general benefít towards teadiing and learning process as well as tiieir stimulating effects. Also, some dialloiges of games inside the classroom have been detected overtly.
