  • NGUYỄN THỊ THU TRANG

Abstract

The article focuses on clarifying forms of polyphony in converse arguments through analyzing the arguments using the connector namely "nhung". The findings show that the polyphony in converse arguments usually occurs in four following typical cases: (I) the locutor presents his/her own view to reject the another one of the enunciator; (2) the locutor presents the view of the enunciator to reject the opinion of the another one; (3) the locutor presents different views of the enunciator, and does not express clearly his/her consensus or rejection; (4) the locutor presents the view which was affirmed by himself/herself in order to deny it and to protect the another one.
