Abstract
In this paper, the application of the current limiting reactors to reduce the influence of controlled capacitors switching transients on An Bien distribution grid is investigated. The analytical computation for inductance value of reactors is presented. In the other hand, the electromagnetic transient program EMTP-ATP was used to simulate the energization of a controlled capacitor bank in a specific feeder with and without reactors. The analytical values are compared to those obtained by simulations to recommend the appropriate inductance value of reactors.
