Outstanding Achievements in Archaeological Research Cooperation between Russia and Vietnam

Tóm tắt

For nearly a decade (2010-2019), the Institute of Archaeology of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences has been conducting a cooperation programme with the Novosibirsk Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and has obtained many achievements. One of the most remarkable achievements of the cooperation programme was the finding of the excavations in Con Moong cave (Thanh Hoa province) and the Palaeolithic sites in An Khe (Gia Lai province). A geological stratum over 10.14m thick, which has remained intact in Con Moong cave, consists of many successive cultural layers and reflects changes in the palaeo-environment and cultural evolution of the prehistoric inhabitants in northern Vietnam from 70,000 BC to 9,000 BC.
