COMPARATIVE STUDY OF MECHANICAL-PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF VISCOSE AND BAMBOO REGENERATED YARNS

Abstract

used to produce fabrics that have outstanding characteristics and cheaper than cotton fabric and it is used by many people nowadays. Viscose fiber is used in textile industry for 50 years, and bamboo fiber is newly used for 10 years. The article presents the results of the research on mechanical-physical properties of viscose and bamboo yarns Ne30/1, uses experimental research method. The results indicate that real count of viscose yarn smaller than bamboo’s one, viscose yarn’s tensile strength is higher than bamboo yarn’s one for 20%, viscose yarn’s break elongation is higher than bamboo yarn’s one for 6.1%. Viscose yarn’s twist is lower than bamboo yarn’s one 7.6%. Viscose yarn unevenness and thin places are higher than bamboo yarn’s one, but viscose yarn’s thick places and neps are smaller than bamboo yarn’s one.
