Designing and testing the frame’s fatigue strength of the HaUI-EV2 electric vehicle

Abstract

This article presents the calibration and calculation of HaUI-EV2
electric vehicle’s frame. Firstly, the vehicle’s frame was designed by
Solid Work software. The material used in manufacturing was CT3
steel, which was inserted in the data input of the Ansys software,
meshed, placed the forces and fixed the points on the frame, and given
the results and discussed. In fact, there are many different loading
conditions when calculating the frame’s fatigue. However, the
research group has chosen the heaviest load modes such as the full
load mode, the fast deceleration mode, the full load mode when one
wheel passes through the 42mm high ground to test the frame strength.
Based on the results of calculations, the frame of the HaUI-EV2
electric vehicle meets the requirements of fatigue and that can be put
into the practical production.
