RESEARCH A SUITABLE BRA STYLE FOR VIETNAMESE FEMALE AFTER THEIR MASTECTOMY

Abstract

In this study, the authors conducted a survey of the needs of bra style of
Vietnamese women after their mastectomy to serve as a basis for research design
development for the special bra. At the present, there are no specialized bra
products manufactured by Vietnam for women after breast cancer surgery. More
than 70% of women look for cheaper bras than the imported ones and the better fit
bra style. Most women would like to have bras with larger cup and wider band to
cover the incision and not show silicon breast. There are 03 recommended design
solutions for medium size sample. The wear test results show that the bras have
soft cups with mesh on the top cup and the under bust elastic strap is preferable.
The study product was compared with imported bras from Germany, Singapore,
China, Thailand. This research has scientific and practical significance to meet the
urgent needs of Vietnamese women after their mastectomy
