Some socio-economic issues after twenty years of renewal in Vietnam

With the support of the United Nations Development Program
in Vietnam, the Swedish Embassy in Hà Noi and the
Vietnamese Academy of Social Sciences, and in compliance
with the Vietnamese Communist Party and State’s policy to
review the twenty years of renewal in Vietnam, the authors of
the “20 year review of renewal project in Vietnam” focused on
studying, analyzing and justifying the important achievements
gained so far. Lessons drawn from the study can be applied to
the country’s construction and development process in order to
make it more effective, stable and sustainable. The authors put
great emphasis on eight issues, corresponding to the content
contained in eight chapters of the book Some Socio-economic
Issues After Twenty Years of Renewal in Vietnam, which was
published based on the initial results of the above project.
