Protection of investor’s legitimate expectations under international investment law and some notes for Vietnam

Abstract

The paper analyses the foundation of the doctrine of investor’s legitimate expectations under international investment law and the practice of applying this doctrine in foreign investor-state dispute settlement. The paper also offers some notes for Vietnam on concluding and implementing investment agreements as well as preventing and minimisingthe risks of disputes arising from the breach of investor’s legitimate expectations.
