Abstract
Objective: Describe the knowledge of nursing students on prevention of pressure ulcers due to long-term lying and some related factors at Nguyen Tat Thanh University. Research method: The study was conducted using a cross-sectional descriptive method, with 245 final-year nursing students at Nguyen Tat Thanh University from month 2 year 2024 to month 2 year 2025. Data were collected through a self-administered interview form, based on the Pieper-Zulkowski Pressure Ulcer Knowledge Tool (PZ-PUKT). Results: 45.7% had correct knowledge about preventing pressure ulcers. Specifically, the correct answer rate about prevention, the correct answer rate about staging ulcers and the correct answer rate about describing ulcers only accounted for 60%; 47.8% and 19.2%, respectively. Some factors such as academic level and number of times being instructed during clinical practice were related to the knowledge about preventing pressure ulcers due to prolonged bed rest of nursing students with p < 0.05. Conclusion: Correct knowledge of nursing students about preventing complications of pressure ulcers is at an average level. To improve knowledge for students, it is necessary to supplement during clinical practice to improve the quality of patient care
