Rumors in ethnic minority areas: some theoretical and practical issues
Abstract
A rumor is considered as psychosocial product, refers to an unverified information or explanation of the event.It spreads from person to person and relates to object, event, or issue of public interest. Because the awareness and qualifications of ethnic minorities are limited, there are no conditions to verify the correctness of the information, thus, it is easy to create rumors. The article is the result in domestic and international researches about rumors, as well as events related to rumors in ethnic minority areas. In recent time, it aims to discuss the issues, such as the concept; the process of forming rumors; and the transform of rumors in the area of ethnic minorities. The author also analyzes the consequences of rumors in ethnic minority areas,.This suggests that in-depth research is necessary on rumors and in the process of changing rumors in ethnic minority areas to propose specific solutions, direct public opinion and limit the rising of negative rumors.
