Abstract

Due to the impact of climate change, natural disasters in Khanh Hoa province have tended to be more complex, droughts and floods occur with increasing intensity. Every rainy season in Khanh Hoa, the number of people dead and missing is around 11 each year, the average annual loss is about 100 billion VND, this grew considerably to over 400 billion VND in 2009 and 2010. Therefore, studying hydraulic construction for disaster prevention and preparedness as well as proposing feasible solutions for constructing are extremely essential at present, especially when global climate change has been affecting the weather patterns, which results in unforeseeable risk and damage.
