Establishment of a database of coastal infrastructure to enumerate structures in Khanh Hoa province being affected by climate change

Abstract

     Climate change have been affecting most coastal activities significantly. To evaluate the impact of climate change and sea level rise to coastal infrastructure, a substantial amount of unified information is needed. This paper presents results of a successful implementation of a database containing infrastructure and constructions of all fields, sectors of Khanh Hoa coastal zone based on GIS tools with full attributes of these constructions. This database will be directly used in combination with information regarding impacts of climate change and sea level rise, in order to make a list of constructions affected by climate change and sea level rise; this database also serves for governmental management at local departments and agencies.
