Abstract

Linkage in agricultural production and consumption is the key for the development of a modern agricultural. To assess the current status of linkage between farming households and enterprises in production and consumption of rice and vegetables in Nam Dinh province, this article employed questionnaire survey method with 105 farming households, 4 cooperatives and 2 enterprises participating the linkage. The research results show that the linkage has brought positive economic, social and environmental effects. However, some issues remain such as: the linking chains are forming and developed unevenly, the resources are lacking, land accumulation and concentration are still facing many obstacles... To promote sustainable linkages between farming households and enterprises, it is necessary to: Plan for specialized production areas; improve support policies for enterprises and farming households; provide training, coaching and supporting capacity building, especially for cooperative managers; enhance the role of local authorities in linkages for production, processing, consumption of agricultural products...
