Abstract

The participation of local people plays a decisive role in the sustainable development of rural tourism. This study was conducted to analyze the reality of rural tourism participation of Tho Son commune’s people. The main data of the study were collected from interviews with 102 people using questionnaires. Research results show that people's participation is still limited, most people lack knowledge and skills in tourism development... To develop rural tourism in Tho Son commune, it is necessary to solve the following problems: (i) promote rural tourism development, (ii) raise people's awareness about rural tourism, (iii) support capital, training, and fostering skills and knowledge in the field of tourism, (iv) development of rural transport networks, (v) ensuring a fair and healthy business environment. Such measures will attract more participation and enhance the capacity of people to develop rural tourism
