Abstract
á Đĩa Reef is a special national monument and a famous tourist destination of Phu Yen
province. The study used geological survey methods, UAV aerial photography methods, and applied
GIS technology for measuring mapping, and 3D modeling of the Đá Đĩa Reef geological heritage.
The results show that Đá Đĩa Reef is an outstanding geomorphologic heritage, rock heritage, and
tectonic plate heritage, and an area with very high geological diversity. There are about 10,000
hexagonal basalt columns with 2 main protrusions, the floating part and the submerged part under
the sea; stone pillars can lie in a variety of positions from straight, oblique, diagonal and horizontal.
There are unique landscape changes depending on the viewing angle from the ground or from above.
There is a special columnar basalt formation process. The geological wonder of Da Dia Reef has very
high geological-geomorphologic and landscape value, creating a strong attraction for tourism
development of Phu Yen province and the South Central Coast region, Vietnam.
