Recommendations of additional criteria for auditing vehicle ruttings of asphalt concrete to the solft pavement design standards 22TCN 211-06
Abstract
Vietnam is a tropical country. Pavement structures work in adverse conditions of temperature - humidity. However, flexible pavement structures designed according to the current standard 22 TCN 211-06, especially for heavy truck routes did not consider the plastic deformation arising in the layers of asphalt concrete (or layers used asphalt as a binder) and cumulative residual deformation of base, subbase and subgrade layers in the operation. This paper analyses the limitations of the current pavement design standard in controlling pavement rutting and proposes solutions.
