SURVEY AND EVALUATION OF THE USE OF MEDICAL PLANTS AND REMEDIES OF THE THAI ETHNIC COMMUNITY IN QUE PHONG AND TUONG DUONG DISTRICTS, NGHE AN PROVINCE
Abstract
Our country's medicinal resources are relatively rich, but are at risk of sharp decline due to massive exploitation. Regeneration and planting of medicinal plants is not enough to compensate. Therefore, the work of preserving genetic resources, traditional medicinal plant varieties and experience in using medicinal plants of 54 ethnic groups is very necessary. Que Phong and Tuong Duong districts are one of the districts with a large proportis of Thai ethnic in Nghe An province, preserving the knowledge of using medicinal plants and remedies is a very necessary task. The results of the investigation into the collection of medicinal plants and remedies in the district show that: in 09 communes dominated by the Thai ethnic group, there are 21 folk remedies that are handed down and commonly used, focusing on disease groups such as liver, kidney, digestion. There are 100 species of medicinal plants commonly used in folk remedies, with a diversity of life forms with herbaceous and woody plants accounting for the highest proportion at 55% and 28%.
