Synthesizing temperature - Relative humidity separate controller for food fermentation chamber based on CFD simulation

Abstract

Air temperature and relative humidity are two of the mandatory properties of moist air during several food processes. However, precise control of these mentioned parameters using independent control loops is rather difficult to be achieved. In this paper, we propose a method of object identification of the temperature and relative humidity for the food fermentation chamber where experiments are impossible to be conducted science the food processing is
continuous. CFD simulation model is used to construct the transient properties of the control objects. Thereby, the transfer functions of temperature, humidity, and cross effects between these parameters were determined. The simulation results on Matlab - Simulink software showed that the temperature – relative humidity separate controller only works well when using additional cross-influence compensation circuits.
