Currency issues of Vietnam Democratic Republic in some first years after August Revolution 1945

Abstract

For an independent and autonomous country, currency plays an important role in one's economy system. In the same meaning that, after overthrowing the colonialism and feudalism in 1945, Government of Vietnam Democratic Republic resolved immediately the problems related to the national currency. This is a complex issue in the context of many difficulties such as nascent government faces many external forces and almost no practical expertise in the field of currency. However, our government has taken many cleverly measures to handle monetary issues and achieved remarkable results. This article is to clarify the contents relating to our country’s currency issues in some first years after August Revolution 1945. Especially the authors emphasize on appreciating the measures of Government of Vietnam Democratic Republic to solve the currency problems at this time
