Tóm tắt

The interaction between surface water and groundwater is a natural activity and plays a crucial role in the sustainable development of water resources in Vietnam. Meanwhile, few researchers and organizations pay attention to that, so we decided to investigate the interaction between surface water and groundwater in Thuong Cat, Hanoi, Vietnam, in the riverside area of the Red River. In the research, three methods were chosen to investigate surface and groundwater interaction in the study area, including stable isotope analysis (18O and 2H), riverbank infiltration Lizi meter, and Seepage meter. The correlation coefficients between the 18O and 2H for the isotope analysis method were above 0.8 for both wet and dry seasons. While the measurement results from the Lizi meter and Seepage meter showed that the interaction is complex and could be impacted easily by external factors, such as infrastructure construction or exploitation of water resources. The results indicated that groundwater contributes to surface water in both dry and wet seasons.
