International academic cooperation: The case of HoChiMinh National Academy of Politics, Vietnam and Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and policy recommendations

Abstract

This article examines the academic cooperation between the Ho Chi Minh National 
Academy of Politics and the Central Party School of the Communist Party of China, with particular 
emphasis on academic collaboration, the exchange of theoretical knowledge, and the training of 
senior officials. Using secondary data and a case study approach, the study finds that this cooperation 
has contributed to updating theoretical thinking, supporting improvements in training curricula, 
expanding inter-party academic networks, and strengthening the strategic ties between the two 
Parties and States. The article concludes with several policy recommendations, including further 
enhancement of training cooperation mechanisms, deeper collaboration in theoretical development, 
and joint efforts to cultivate the next generation of scholars from both institutions.
