Primary Research on Stability of Yied and Quality of Huongcom Rice Seed Classes in Some Rice Growing Locations in Northern Vietnam

Abstract

The stability of yield and quality of cv Huongcom as influenced by foundation seed grades and growing locations was studied. It was found that higher yield and quality were obtained in Nam Dinh and Thai Binh than those in Bac Ninh and Hanoi. Similar pattern was also found for protein content. The aroma of this rice variety was found higher and more stable in the coastal areas.  The seed lots HC1 and HC2 gave higher and more stable yield and quality than the seed lot HC3 in both spring and summer croppings and was comparable with Bac Thom 7
