Abstract

The development of the private sector is one of the key achievements of Vietnam’s economic reform and liberalization process. In recent times, policies encouraging private sector development in several key national economic sectors have been introduced. Although these policies are in their initial stages,
they lay the foundation to encourage private sector investment and development with the potential to expand and compete in the global market. This article analyzes the policies employed by the Vietnamese government to foster private sector growth in key national economic sectors and provides severalrecommendations for the future.
