Abstract

The Emission Trading System (ETS) is currently applied in various countries worldwide as a government policy instrument to achieve greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets and address climate change. Through this trading system, governments control GHG emissions via market mechanisms andimplement measures to gradually reduce emissions across specific sectors or the entire economy. This article explores the participants, operational methods, and notable ETS models globally, providing insights for potential application in Vietnam.
