Tóm tắt

Organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) are persistent organic pollutants (POPs) listed under the Stockholm Convention since 2004 for elimination due to their toxicity, persistence, and bioaccumulation potential. This study determined the presence of OCPs in surface water from the Kim Nguu River (Hanoi city area) using gas chromatography coupled with an electron capture detector (GC-ECD). The validity of the optimized analytical method was confirmed to achieve a limit of detection (LOD) for 18 OCPs in the range of 0.0028–0.0064 µg/L and a limit of quantification (LOQ) from 0.0090 to 0.020 µg/L. The recoveries of 18 OCPs ranged from 70% to 110%, with repeatability (%RSDr) of 5.31–8.95% and intermediate precision (%RSDR) of 5.46–17.06%. These validation parameters met the AOAC 2016 (Appendix F) criteria at the 1 µg/L concentration level. Notably, no OCPs were detected in the surface water samples collected from the Kim Nguu River during the study period.
