Rhinofacial conidiobolomycosis: first report of three cases in southern Vietnam

Rhinofacial conidiobolomycosis (RFC) is a neglected tropical mycosis affecting immunocompetent individuals. The disease is frequently misdiagnosed with other conditions. We report the first three cases of RFC in southern Vietnam. Patients presented with nasal and paranasal tissue swelling. The definitive diagnosis was confirmed by histopathology, revealing the Splendore–Hoeppli phenomenon. All of them received amphotericin B followed by itraconazole and remained stable during the follow-up period, with no recurrence observed. This case series underscores the significance of enhancing clinical awareness regarding this rare fungal disease.
