Research data management practices of lecturers at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City

Abstract

     The article investigates the current state of research data management by faculty members at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City. The study used a mixed method to conduct a survey of 151 faculty members and to interview 06 full-time faculty members currently working at the university. The research results reveal the diversity and specificity of research data generated in the fields of social sciences and humanities. The study also explores strengths and some limitations in the process of storage, security, management, and sharing of research data. The findings provide practical groundwork for stakeholders in developing policies, technological infrastructure, and appropriate services for the systematic and strategic management of the university's research data. Additionally, it aids faculty members in enhancing their knowledge and skills related to research data management.
