Abstract

Vietnam is witnessing a profound transformation in its transportation sector towards achieving Net Zero by 2050; consequently, the transition to green energy vehicles, especially electric vehicles, is rapidly underway in major cities across Vietnam. The rapid increase in these vehicles not only poses a challenge to energy supply capacity but also places significant pressure on existing urban infrastructure, particularly static transportation infrastructure (parking lots and terminals). However, many older apartment buildings, collective housing complexes, and parking lots were constructed before electric vehicles became widespread, and their electrical and fire safety systems were not designed to handle the simultaneous charging of batteries. Furthermore, fire safety requirements for electric vehicles remain largely unregulated from a scientific and technical standpoint. This article approaches the issue from the perspective of urban technical infrastructure, focusing on spatial planning issues and technical issues related to parking lots, charging stations, and other facilities to meet the demands of the transition to electric vehicles./.
