Vietnam’s international economic integration: from Doi Moi to an era of national rise
Từ khóa
Tóm tắt
This article examines Vietnam’s international economic integration across four phases since the post-Doi Moi (1986) to the present. The findings indicate that a well-calibrated opening-up strategy has positioned Vietnam as a key manufacturing and export hub within global value chains. However, the study also identifies persistent bottlenecks, including low domestic value added, dependence on foreign direct investment, and delays in digital transformation and green transition. Building on these insights, the article proposes policy measures to strengthen endogenous capabilities and enhance Vietnam’s strategic position in response to the evolving geopolitical landscape.
