Gender equality in contemporary Vietnam: From perspectives to practice
Abstract
Gender equality is an issue that cannot be overlooked in Vietnam, as it is both an objective in building socialism and a driving force for sustainable social development. Therefore, throughout the process of renovation and international integration, the Party and the State of Vietnam have always paid attention to, directed, and implemented the goal of gender equality. This is reflected in the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and legal framework, and the practical realization of this goal. This article primarily employs secondary sources and uses the overview and analytical methods to synthesise the Party and State's orientations and policies on gender equality; identify several achievements and limitations regarding gender equality in Vietnam; and thereby suggesting a number of solutions to effectively realise gender equality in Vietnam in the current context
