Evaluating the change in knowledge of 3rd year nursing students at Yersin University Dalat about falls prevention for patients in 2020
Abstract
Nursing students are future health workers who play an extremely important role in developing career, improving the quality of patient care and preventing risks related to patient safety, especially fall prevention. An intervention study was conducted on 63 nursing students, with assessment before and after the intervention in the aim of assessing the change in knowledge of Yersin University Dalat nursing students about fall prevention for patients. The results show that students' knowledge after the intervention improved significantly compared to before the intervention (p < 0.001), 79.4% of students had good knowledge, 19% of students had average knowledge and 1.6% had poor knowledge. Therefore, a fall prevention program should be included in the training curricula of nursing schools.
