DETERMINATION AND COMPARISON OF THE QUALITY CHARACTERISTICS BETWEEN THE TWO SLUB YARNS NE12 AND NE14 WITH SAME SLUB PATTERNS

Abstract

This paper presents the study of determination and comparison of the real
yarn count, yarn count unevenness, yarn twist, yarn twist unevenness, yarn
breaking force, yarn breaking force unevenness, yarn hairiness between two
slub yarns with same base yarn count Ne12 and Ne14 with same slub patterns.
The study results show that the slub patterns affect the slub yarn quality
through yarn quality characteristics such as the yarn breaking force, the yarn
count unevenness and the yarn hairiness. The higher the yarn count, the more
obvious the thick and thin spots on the slub yarn, making the slub yarn's
unevenness higher. Slub yarn with higher counts have higher twist and lower
breaking strength, greater strength unevenness and lower yarn hairiness.
