Abstract

The electro-optical observation station drive system on the surface ship is
a 2-channel control system in the altitude and azimuth directions, and is
affected by cross-inøuence between the channels, friction force, ship motion,
waves, and wind at sea. This paper presents a solution for controlling the
observation station on a surface ship under the impact conditions of the
angles of the ship to stabilize the line of sight from the observation station to
the target. Using the value iteration method to calculate discrete time linear
quadratic tracking controllers for the altitude and azimuth drive system. The
goal of the controllers is that the drive system closely tracks the continuous
change of the control angle with an error of less than 2 mrad.
