Abstract
Thi Nai lagoon covers an area of approximately 5,060 ha and is administratively situated within Quy Nhon, East Quy Nhon, and South Quy Nhon wards, as well as Tuy Phuoc and Phu Cat communes of Gia Lai Province. Field surveys recorded a total of 31 mangrove plant species occurring within the lagoon. Among these, 20 species were classified as true mangroves, representing 12 families, while 11 species were identified as associated mangrove species, representing 10 families. An assessment integrating remote-sensing imagery analysis with field surveys estimated the total extent of mangrove forest within Thi Nai Lagoon at approximately 68.5 ha. The largest contiguous area of mangrove vegetation was recorded at Con Chim, covering approximately 48 ha. This area comprises both naturally established mangrove stands and recently replanted mangrove forests within former aquaculture ponds.
