Data management for marine research – Direction and development

Abstract

The paper introduces a database management program (digital database for management of dynamic factors, environment, satellite images, etc.) on Vietnamese waters in order to provide appropriate data and tools for managers and scientific researchers. The database consists of four functional groups in which there are eight datasets. The program is designed for easy installation and is compatible on windows operating system versions. Data is decentralized and easy to update quickly and simply. Output data as real data or as spatial and temporal information in the form of spreadsheets and automatic digital maps. Based on historical statistical information, the program will issue unusual warnings of updated data related to unusual signs of weather or climate change
