Abstract
The objective of this paper is to estimate the factors affecting the access to trade credit of ricegrowing households in the Mekong Delta. The study utilizes primary data collected from 574 ricegrowing households across 6 provinces/cities in the Mekong Delta. The Probit regression results indicate that seven factors influence the access to trade credit of rice-growing households. Among these, four factors have a positive impact, namely land area, acquaintance duration, number of
times borrowing formally, and number of input suppliers, while three factors have a negative impact: income, distance to suppliers, and farmer's experience. Based on these findings, the paper proposes recommendations to facilitate farmers' access to trade credit.
